The
Help I Needed
To
anyone reading this,
Walker Recovery Center was able to take a troubled
man who was headed for more trouble than he could
know and turn him back into the happy person he
once was. That of course being myself. There should
be more publicity for the program and what it is
able to do for anyone who has trouble dealing with
their addictions. Too many only know what they
have heard about the program and it is all gossip
from people who do not have a clue what they are
talking about. Bradford
Care in Birmingham gets all kind of great publicity
for the work they do but if more people knew
what good work and how professional wrc was they
may get the positive feedback they deserve. Walker
and surrounding counties are in need of more
help in getting the ones who are addicted to
drugs off the street and into a program. Most
think it is just swapping one drug for another
but the people going through this program are able
to and willing to get back to being a positive
part of the community and not just a drain on
the economy or strain on the justice system.
Most people do not make sure that their brain
is loaded before they shoot off their mouth. So
spread the positive word help educate everyone
from the police, lawyers, doctors, judges, pastors,
etc. so they will not look down their noses about
the program and help make it a positive place
to go. That way more people
would be willing to sign up for help if they felt
more like it was more accepted by others. People
have to take medication for hundreds of ill nesses,
so why is it a problem for people to take medication
for what the ama has now determined to be an illness?
Of course I'm not sure of all the rules and reasons
for WRC not doing more themselves to put the word
out. Maybe they could find some sponsors to allow
them to put ads in the area newspapers and on the
local radio letting people know there is help out
there for anyone who needs it. Just be ready to move
to a bigger place and hire more help, because there
are hundreds who would benefit from the good work
done at WRC. l know what a huge difference it made
in my life and I hope more will get the help that
they need before it is to late. Best wishes and thank you. |
