To my husband’s counselor,
My husband is a different person since he has started his
treatment. He is the person I remember loving as soon as
I
met him. He was a loving, caring, honest person - he was
everything to me. The he got on pills (and other drugs
for a while).
He changed completely. I still loved him but I could feel
myself changing the way I felt for him. He made me so mad
because I knew how he was before the drugs –he was
so strong willed. Then he told me that pills were something
he
was too weak to overcome.
It was like he was a totally different person than the one
I met. I knew he could do anything he put his mind to. I knew
one day he would remember that person he was and overcome
his addiction. He loved our kids, but he never paid attention
to them or showed them he loved them. Even as babies you could
tell they felt that way.
But now!! He is the strong willed person I knew deep down
he was. He is now the greatest dad you could ask for and our
kids adore him. Our oldest one follows his every step and
loves him so much now. Our little one even notices the difference.
They are so much happier.
When he comes out from seeing you, he is so proud that you
tell him how good he is doing. He loves that people other
than his family notice the differences. Thank you so much
for all your help with him. You helped us get back the husband
and father he used to be. He doesn’t know I am writing
this letter but I wanted you to know that there is a change
in him that I have been praying about for a LONG time! Thank
you for helping me get him back.
This program has given us our life back; drugs took a lot
of it away it felt like. I think I was almost to the point
of giving up. I never wanted to but I didn’t think
there was hope for our marriage any more - but there was!
My prayers
were answered by his coming to Walker Recovery. Thank you
for encouraging him to keep going. It helps a lot. Walker
Recovery really helps people get their lives back. It saved
our marriage!
Thank you!
